FC Barcelona, before kick-off and at half-time

FC Barcelona plays the Fan of the Match quiz at Camp Nou, the largest stadium in Europe with more than 99,000 seats. The gamification runs before kick-off and at half-time, in the stands and on the screens.

A clear ambition

A football club with a global fanbase, many of them tourists at any given home match, has no easy way to map who its supporters actually are or keep them engaged beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. Before kickoff or at half-time, that attention risks going nowhere.

The concept

The Fan of the Match quiz runs before the match or during half-time in Camp Nou, Europe's largest stadium. The same tool extends beyond the main club, used at Estadi Johan Cruyff and for Barça Femení, Barça B and the basketball team, turning half-time into a recurring moment of play across every corner of the club.

Making it work

The quiz was built so that FC Barcelona can run it independently, at every home match, without needing livewall involved each time. That self-sufficiency was reached step by step: the tool started small before growing into one of the largest quizzes played anywhere in the world, inside Camp Nou itself.

Results

A quiz built for one club rarely stays that simple. Once a tool proves itself in the biggest stadium, it tends to spread sideways, to the women's team, the reserves, another sport entirely, without needing to be reinvented each time.

This is where the fun begins.
