Meet our interns

New faces, new ideas, and apparently a surprisingly big love of music. Over the coming months, six interns will get started within different teams and MACH8. From marketing and project management to frontend development and AI. They work on different projects, learn a lot of new things, and of course also bring their own ideas.

But who are these new faces, actually? What do they do besides their internship, what makes them enthusiastic, and which random facts do you really need to know about them?

Time to get to know our interns a bit better.

Do you hear music somewhere? Then there's a good chance Thijn has something to say about it. Or that he's behind the decks himself. Alongside his internship, he's an all-round DJ and plays everything from weddings and birthdays to bigger events. His taste in music goes in pretty much every direction, although at festivals like Intents and Decibel it's welcome to get a bit harder.

Over the coming months, he'll regularly swap the decks for AI. Thijn is 21, studies ICT at Fontys, and interns as an AI Developer at livewall/MACH8.

But outside of music too, he likes being around people. Going out, having a drink, or actually anything that involves good company: Thijn is there. Preferably with a couple of beers, of course.

So there's always time for a chat. Or as he puts it himself:

“I promise I don't bite, so feel free to swing by for a chat.”

For a fun activity, good food, or a good drink, you probably don't need to ask Madelief twice. She loves traveling, likes going out with friends, and is actually always up for good company.

Good food runs in the family, too. Her grandmother is Indonesian and, according to Madelief, an incredibly good cook. So when grandma cooks, she happily clears her schedule.

Over the coming months, she'll combine that love of good company with her internship as a Project Management Support intern at livewall. Madelief is 21 and studies Commercial Economics at Avans in Breda.

And don't expect only cosy background music from her, because her taste in music is heavy. Very heavy. Madelief is a big fan of rawstyle and likes going to festivals like Defqon and Decibel. She's also sporty and actually up for pretty much any sport involving a ball.

So the formula is pretty simple:

“Good food + a fun activity + a drink? I'm in.”

Salmiak? Yes please. Nuts and peanuts? He'd rather not. Niels is allergic to both, but that doesn't really bother him. As he puts it himself: “They smell bad anyway.” Why he then does love salmiak so much, even he doesn't really know.

Niels studies ICT at Fontys in Eindhoven and is currently interning at livewall as a Frontend Development intern. Besides coding, he's always up for a game of pool or table tennis. So should you be looking for an opponent, you know who to go to.

There's just one more thing you should know about Niels. After a few drinks, he tends to climb pretty much everything. He himself doesn't really see the problem with that. His friends sometimes think differently about it.

“Apparently, after a few drinks, everything turns into a climbing frame.”

Originally, Stefania is from Sofia, but by now she's been living in the Netherlands for two years. Before that, she spent another six months in the south of France, so the route to Tilburg wasn't exactly straightforward.

She studies ICT at Fontys and interns at livewall as a Frontend Development intern. Outside her internship, she still loves to travel, goes to concerts, and likes meeting up with friends.

Recently, she's also picked up a creative hobby: sewing. Her goal is to eventually be able to make her own clothes. So alongside building things in frontend, she's also slowly working on her own wardrobe.

Should you ever cook for her, there's one thing you'd better leave out: tomatoes. Stefania hates them. Pretty inconvenient, considering that according to her, about half of all Bulgarian dishes contain tomatoes.

Luckily, coffee will make up for a lot with her. That way, she fits perfectly within the office, at least.

“Coffee? Yes. Tomatoes? Absolutely not.”

More than 1,000 albums and 300 films. Mart doesn't just love music and films, he also keeps precise track of everything he listens to and watches. And as if that doesn't already say enough about his interests, he's also been a big Star Wars fan for as long as he can remember.

Mart is 20, studies Communication & Multimedia Design at Avans in Den Bosch, and is currently interning within livewall's marketing team. When he's not busy with creative projects, there's a good chance a game is involved somewhere. Board game or video game, he's not too picky about that.

He doesn't always sit still, either, by the way. After doing judo for most of his life, he recently started bouldering.

And then there's one more important detail we can't leave out: Mart loves onions. Really loves onions. How exactly that goes together with his love for Star Wars?

“May the Force be with you… and the onions too.”

And then of course I can't skip myself. Hi, I'm Tara! Over the next 20 weeks, I'm interning within livewall's marketing and communications team. I deal with everything around content, marketing, and communication, while trying to get a bit better at Figma along the way. Give me a few weeks.

Being creative is totally my thing. From coming up with content and making designs to doubting just a little too long whether something is really finished. Outside working hours, I'm always up for a dinner out, a party, or a good glass of wine.

I also have a mild shopping addiction, so there's a good chance a new package is waiting for me somewhere every week. Luckily, I prefer to take the car everywhere. Even to school, even though that's only a five-minute bike ride. Which works out nicely for those packages, though.

At the end of November I turn 21, and naturally the preparations for my 21st dinner have already long begun. Priorities.

From AI and frontend development to marketing and project management: over the coming months, there will in any case be plenty of different interests and personalities walking around at livewall and MACH8. And by now you also know right away who to go to for a game of table tennis, a festival, a film tip, or a good drink.
